CJRP Community Regrant Initiative Eligibility & Application

Eligibility

To be eligible to submit a Regrant application, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

  • Conduct programming within the United States.

  • Have a mission and vision aligned with the purpose of this regrant initiative.

  • Demonstrate a history of work and current initiatives focused on improving conditions for youth and communities across one or more dimensions of prevention: education, economics, environment, health, safety.

  • Work directly with the target population, defined as:

    • Racially and ethnically minoritized groups.

    • Individuals from low-income or indigent backgrounds.

    • Youth involved in or aging out of the foster care system.

    • Organizations serving youth and young adults (ages 16–24).

    • Populations in both urban and rural communities.

    • Individuals with disabilities.

  • Submit a complete application by the published deadline.

What organizational characteristics are important?

  • Works with system-impacted individuals and communities

    • We define system-impacted individuals and communities as those who have been directly or indirectly impacted by the criminal legal system, or who face an elevated risk of such involvement, leading to significant or lasting disruptions in their lives or livelihoods.

  • Serves opportunity youth

    • This initiative places particular emphasis on organizations serving opportunity youth - defined as individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 who are neither enrolled in school nor participating in the workforce.

  • Focuses on one or more of the following dimensions of prevention:

    • Education (Work that prioritizes improving our formal and informal education systems and improving access to high-quality learning materials and opportunities)

    • Economics (Work that prioritizes financial literacy, improving access to capital and jobs, innovation and entrepreneurship, and generational wealth-building)

    • Environment (Work that emphasizes the importance and impact of the physical and social climate)

    • Health (Work that emphasizes individual, family, and community health, and access to healthcare services)

    • Safety (Work that prioritizes ensuring the physical and psychological safety of community members, and youth in particular)

This regrant initiative does not support intervention work in the criminal legal system.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm PT on March 23, 2025. Applications will be reviewed using these Evaluation Criteria. Applicant organizations will be notified of the outcome of their application by April 13, 2025.
